Could a genre under this name gain traction? This is gone down like a storm, and completely independently of our genre...

I'm glad I'm not the only other person who's heard of Mandidextrous! I really enjoy what they are doing. Honestly newer fusions of genres are what is keeping the 170+ scene alive nowadays.

If it's anything like this, then it's a hard pass for me.
It just sounds like Dougal, Gammer and Darren Styles stuff from 2010 with different samples used and more dnb-ish.

Been buying a **** ton of it, I think it's better than the hardstyle hardcore we are getting.
Mandi is straight killing it.

Another Mandidextrous fan here, quite often drop their tracks in my sets and can fit them into a D&B or hardcore set. It's worth checking out Bass Militia records as well if you're into that style

It's fine...but it doesn't really sound like it has much room to grow. What if you accidently use the wrong bass preset instead of the defined 3 wubs? And it becomes 'regular' dubby uk hardcore :P
with the danger of derailing the topic, I find it hard to envision what a 'scene' is supposed to look like these days with the huge difference in how people consume and enjoy music.
My kids, and the kids round here will listen to literally *anything* regardless of era, genre etc...it's absolutely fantastic. As long as they like the music, that is all they care about. The teens next door were blasting out Tom Jones, followed by ABBA, followed by a bunch of Drum N bass and trance.
It's brilliant, but at the same time...there is very little cohesion to it. Nightclubs are dead, forums like this are dead, facebook and its algorithm is a truly awful place for any serious conversation. We can hardly say that raves are thriving. The conversations in the Synthwave and electroswing groups I'm in often look like this too.
A world of choice. It's awesome, but at the same time I think that loyalty has gone outta the window.

Regardless of sample choices and such, I think artistically it's fantastically carried out.
The producer seems to have a clear vision/sound he/she is going for. I admire that.

But yeah, absolutely right. The method by which people listen to music has massively blurred the lines. People used to buy music categorised by genre (in stores, on iTunes, on Beatport) and streaming doesn't draw the same lines.
By tagging music with the 'Hardcore' tag, are we creating a barrier, and preventing people finding and enjoying it all? The most prevalent Hardcore music now is on other labels or using other unique genre names. Look at DS, he's expanded his horizons with hardstyle integration. Gammer via Monstercat.
I think we are suffering from our own island mentality. Perhaps we need a thread on here brainstorming how to re-energise the genre, because it's becoming an echo-chamber. Names I could reliably see year in, year out have stopped making noises. Hell, you know somethings wrong when Paul at Future State even becomes quiet!
