----------------------------------- Original Post ----------------------------------- Hello
I am putting together another collaboration mix between members. All types of DJ welcome. Vinyl, CDJ, Controller, & Software. All I ask is that you are confident in mixing and have a way to record in high quality.
All genres of hardcore welcome but keep the speed fast.
How it will work.
When people have signed up I shall assign them a number based on when they signed up. Those numbers will go in to the Google random number generator. This will decide the order.
Every DJ gets 30 minutes. Of course it can run slightly over or under.
Once the first DJ has finished their section they send it to me in WAV and I shall cut the last track off. Probably at the first break giving the next DJ plenty of time to get ready for their section.
Then they send me their section and I shall do the same until everyone has submitted their section.
Once completed I shall glue the sections together making the final mix.
After that I will share the finished mix with everyone involved and they can distribute it however they want. (Mixcloud, Soundcloud, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter. Wherever.
The final file will be WAV & MP3 320.
Rules
1 To participate you must be a member of HappyHardcore.com
2 You must have at least 25 Posts as of today June 21th 2020.
3 You must be able to record your section directly from your mixer or software in WAV.
4 Try and keep it fast.
5 The mix speed will be 180BPM. During your section you can go slower or faster however at the end of your section it MUST be 180BPM.
6 Try and keep you'r levels under control. A few peaks here and there are ok but try and keep the overall volume the same.
7 Your final file must be WAV.
8 You must use the artwork provided when posting online
9 You must give credit to everyone involved when posting online.
10 You must submit a track list with your section so we can avoid playing the same track twice, and so we can post a final tracklist when it's finished.
11 During your last track you must centre all EQ's, Filters and let it play all the way to the end without effects. (Give your recording a few seconds of silence to make sure you don't cut it short.)
12 During the first track Before you start mixing you must centre all EQ's & filters and play it at 0% pitch. This is key for the joining process.
13 Your last track must be full length DJ friendly. It must have a clear section to mix out of. NO RADIO EDITS.
14 You will have 5 days to complete your mix once I send you the file. You must check the forum regularly because if I don't receive a reply in 5 days you will be cut.
15 You must include the track of the last person which I shall send you from the beginning of the file I send. Which will start at the first break. This will make it easier for me to cut them together. Your time starts when you start mixing.

I'd like to participate. I hope my equipment works better this time. There a couple of audible glitches in my last set because my cheap Gemini equipment had issues.

Producers and record labels, please stop "loudness war" mastering everything. It sounds terrible.

I only hope that don't have timing issues like the first entry. I go ahead as "Kaz :D!" ;).
If anyone has timing issues I am happy to give then another chance at the end. As long as people let me know I am happy to do that. The final section may be taken so people will go on second to last.

Glad to see you joining in again. I really enjoyed the last one.
I said I would be back for a summer one and as promised here I am :)

I had spoken with MIL earlier about this and I wanted to join in.
But I wanted to play gabber, and I dont think gabber should be played in the middle of the set, so if it's all right with the rest of you (MIL said it was ok, but this is a community project after all), I'd want to be very last

Well considering the site is called HHC.com, Gabber hardly fits anyway, I would have played terror if I was going to play the stuff I like the most.

Plus you can't pick your position.
Was the last mix happy hardcore then? Arguably, the radio and the website has been leaning heavily towards contemporary hardcore ever since it's inception. So it has never been limited to Happy Hardcore.
Also, the other community projects we've had before MIL's had none of those limits. As long as they end with something mixable, anything was allowed.
And also, if you read what I wrote, I asked if "if it was all right with the rest of you," even though it's up to MIL to decide.

If Terror is considered a Hardcore genre, then go a head and mix it, but I would debate that 175 isn't fast :P

Samination asked if he can have the last section because he felt Gabber goes at the end. I am happy with that.
Anyone can play whatever style of hardcore they want. If you want to play at 250BPM no problem as long as you can start and end at 175BPM.
I feel 175BPM worked really well last time. It also allows all skill levels to get involved without having to worry about how to mix a 170BPM track in to a 250BPM track.
Trying to facilitate everyone while keeping the overall quality high. :)

I'd love to join. The last one was lots of fun and I'm sure this one will be as well.

I did play a few hardcore/frenchcore at 200bpm last time. The difficult bit about it is having to finish with 175bpm without the ending sounding too anticlimactic or disjointed.
