I love hardcore music and have always wanted to break into the scene not for money but just cause of my love for the scene but sometimes I can't help but wonder how much do hardcore djs actually earn? I'm not talking about someone like Darren styles as he is obviously doing very well for himself and probably earns big money compared to most in the scene but take someone like dj Kurt for example. A legend in the scene no doubt but couldn't imagine he has earnt the type of money styles has. Could someone get to Kurt's status level where they can get booked at small to mid sized raves up and down the uk and get signed to a label such as lethal theory and live a pretty lavish lifestyle or would they just be earning a living?

I can imagine there is f**k all money in hardcore, especially from actually selling music, most money must come from gigs but they seem few and far between these days.
Probably why the likes of styles and gammer moved away from the scene to the more popular hard dance genre

I'd like to know just how much the difference was in $$$ to make them abandon their roots. I'm def curious.
for example, what Styles gets paid at EDC, vs so many years ago at HTID in the Sun or such.

I can imagine quite a difference, the promoters are bigger and attract bigger crowds = more ????
Also the frequency of gigs will be more so again more ????

I can't imagine it being too significant ? hopefully for his sake, more than 50k difference?
Styles went from being a top headliner in his scene to being a relatively unknown performer ( at least in the USA) He is certainly not one of the most popular acts, and can't be getting paid what some of the dubstep/trap artists are getting.... I have no idea though
