This is true, and tbh it's always been that way. they never had the "techno" scene we had. HMS, Loftgroover, Clarkee, Producer, Scorpio etc. It wasn't as big out there as it was here.
They had a slower more grinding scene. Was always popular and well attended.
I am happy to see the uptempo scene being so popular tbh, I still like terror though :)

Mainstream hardcore in Holland was 160/170 in 2000 to 2009 ish then 170/180 2010 to a few years ago, now uptempo is the mainstream sound and there's not as much melodic 170/180 stuff around!

Hardly, look at the line ups for the main rooms of all the big MOH or raves like it, its still slower , its still melodic. The uptempo sound is still not at prominent as the Angerfist / Playah styles. The likes of Mad Dog, Anime, Noise Supressor still play slower with the more operatic hardcore sound.
The crazy fast upetempo DJ's are in room 2. Likes of F Noize , Estasia, DRS, Insanity, GPF, Lunakorpz
I prefer it that way, the mental techno always been in room 2
