hi all, I'm looking for recommendations for a new laptop. My current one is coming up to ten years old and starting to really slow down. I'd be using it mainly for downloading tunes, rekordbox, audacity, internet browsing... My current 1 has a 1TB internal storage, but I've noticed most new laptops don't seem to come with that sort of storage anymore?! So looking for recommendation of external hard drives, to store all of my music on also?!
TIA |

Large storage has never been a thing when it comes to most laptops. You'd have to get a "above budget" to ever get a large drive. But then, the storage sizes changed again after SSD's became more common on laptops. |

yeah, that seems to be what i am finding to be fair mate. I suppose i don't need anything fantastic for what i need it for, but the storage thing is an issue, unless i back up with multiple drives |

if you usually place it on a stable surface, external drives are usually cheap to get... or at least used to. The only piece of new hardware i've bought for the past 5 years was a graphics card. |

I usually buy the Seagate Expansion Desktop, 4TB, External Hard Drive. On Amazon for 89 Quid. Got about 6 of them now. You're right about laptops and storage. My laptop has 2TB storage but I can't find any with that sort of storage anymore.
I've always stuck with HP laptops.

Cool i will take a look at those drives mate, appreciate it. I suppose if you've that many drives, the laptop storage doesn't really matter if you're constantly backing up onto those extra drives. Yeah mine is a HP, it's done a sound job over the years i guess, for what i use it for anyways. |
